Lawn tractor raised on a lift table during repair

How It Works

From First Call to Finished Repair

You do not need mechanical knowledge to start the repair conversation. Here is exactly what happens when you contact PATO Mechanical Services.

Our 4-Step Repair Process

01

Tell Us About the Equipment

Contact PATO Mechanical Services with the equipment type, make and model, your location, and a photo when possible.

02

Describe What Is Happening

Tell us what happens when you start, run, drive, cut, or operate the machine. We may ask about recent use, storage, previous service, and when the problem began.

03

Arrange Drop-Off or Onsite Assessment

Smaller equipment is generally handled through drop-off service. Larger machines that are difficult to transport may qualify for an onsite assessment based on the equipment, location, and problem.

04

Review the Findings and Repair

After inspection, we explain what we found, what work is required, and if replacement parts are needed. PATO Mechanical Services can source parts and provide updates when availability affects the repair.

Drop-Off, Shop, or Onsite — Which One?

The best service arrangement depends on the equipment itself, not a one-size-fits-all rule.

Equipment You Can Transport

Smaller machines — chainsaws, trimmers, leaf blowers, push mowers, portable generators — are generally better suited to drop-off.

Send the model, a photo, and the symptoms before bringing your equipment in. Patrick can review the information and discuss the next step with you.

Equipment That Is Hard to Move

Larger machines — lawn tractors, zero-turns, big snowblowers, truck-mounted plows and salters — may require a different arrangement.

Onsite assessment may be available when equipment cannot reasonably be transported. Availability depends on the machine, problem, and location. An onsite service-call fee applies — discussed before the visit and applied toward the repair.

Describe What Changed Before You Guess What Broke

Tell Patrick if your machine:

  • Will not start
  • Starts and then stops
  • Loses power during use
  • Bogs down under load
  • Runs rough
  • Will not drive or move properly
  • No longer cuts as expected
  • Has been sitting for several months
  • Developed a problem during a job

Patrick may ask what you already tried, when the machine last worked, and other questions relevant to the equipment. This initial troubleshooting helps PATO decide what should happen next without treating a phone conversation as a complete diagnosis.

Four Details Make the First Conversation More Useful

01

Equipment Type & Model

Include the brand and model number when you can find them. Two machines that look similar can require different parts and service approaches.

02

A Photo

A clear equipment photo helps Patrick identify what you are working with before service is arranged.

03

What Changed

Explain what the machine does now and how that differs from normal operation — and anything you already tried.

04

Your Location

PATO can then confirm current service availability and discuss the appropriate arrangement for your area.

Transparent Pricing

Repair pricing depends on the machine, the problem, the parts required, and the work involved, so PATO Mechanical Services does not use one fixed repair price. A $150 service call fee applies when we travel to your location for diagnosis. We discuss the fee before the visit. When you proceed with the repair, the service call fee is applied toward the repair cost.

Common Questions

Do I need to know what part is broken?

No. Describe what the machine is doing and when the problem appears. Patrick can start from the symptoms.

Do you offer mobile or onsite repair?

Onsite assessment may be available for larger equipment that is difficult to transport, such as lawn tractors, truck-mounted plows, and salters. Availability depends on the machine, location, and problem. A $150 service call fee applies and is credited toward the repair cost if you proceed.

How much does a repair cost?

Cost depends on the equipment, problem, parts, and work required — PATO does not use one fixed price for every machine. The service call fee and the required work are always discussed with you before anything moves forward.

Can PATO order parts for my equipment?

Yes. PATO can source parts when needed and update you when parts are ordered or arriving. If you prefer to source certain parts yourself, that can also be discussed.

Start With the Equipment Details

If your machine will not start, keeps stopping, loses power, or no longer operates normally, send PATO the model, a photo, and a short description of what happened — or call 647-612-0997.
